Project Overview

Developed as part of a university project in Interactive Media in collaboration with Joris Köster, “Vivid Reverie,” a VR game/experience designed to transport players into a dreamlike world. The story follows Charlie, a child who loses their teddy bear and ventures into a magical forest hidden within his drawer. Through VR, players explore enchanted scenery filled with hidden objects, they must take pictures using a Polaroid camera to uncover the mystery of Charlie’s journey and return home.

My Contributions

  • Storytelling and sound effect design: Helped craft the narrative and overall structure of the game, ensuring it created an immersive and emotionally engaging experience. Contributed to the soundscape, selecting and designing audio cues to enhance the magical and immersive atmosphere.
  • Interaction Design: Designed the VR interactions, ensuring that the camera mechanic and environmental exploration felt intuitive and engaging for players.
  • Game Aesthetics: Designed the dream world’s aesthetic, including the game’s logo and visual elements.
  • 3D Modeling: Created custom 3D models for objects such as the Polaroid camera, board, and various landscape features.

Outcome/Impact

  • Successfully developed and showcased a fully functional VR experience as part of our course.
  • Gained hands-on experience in VR design, storytelling, and 3D modeling, while learning to collaborate effectively in a creative development process.
